Kia Ora - Welcome
This website displays the 36 paintings I created in 2010-2011 for the book Taketakerau The Millennium Tree by Marnie Anstis, published by Steele Roberts.
This project appealed enormously to me because painting the New Zealand high country and bush has been a passion for many years, so working on the book was an extension of my interests in that field.
Here you will find the Paintings, with Artist's Notes, written to explain my rationale for some of the special design features of the works. My preliminary pencil Designs are on this site too.
I hope you enjoy your journey through these artworks that represent the story of Taketakerau The Millennium Tree - and the story of Aotearoa New Zealand.
